Raymond Gleason, 90, of Albion, passed away on December 19, 2024.
Raymond was born in Fort Wayne on July 25, 1934, to the late Jerome and Marie (Goble) Gleason. He graduated from Plainfield High School and dedicated 36 years of his life to auto manufacturing at Harvester and Navistar in Fort Wayne. Raymond had a zest for life and a heart full of compassion. After retirement, his desire to help others led him to become a certified Massage Therapist. He also served as a security guard at Kraft for several years. Raymond had a deep love for his community, often volunteering to play Santa for Hospice at Nursing homes. He cherished spending time with his wife, Janet, particularly their special nights out for dinner, and enjoyed square dancing.
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Janet Gleason; his son Raymond "Doug" Gleason, Jr.; stepsons, Paul (Leah) Campbell and Chris Campbell; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Gleason and Allen Gleason; his sisters, Vera Saum, Phyllis Clawson, and Patricia Sutton; two stepsons, Michael Campbell and David Campbell.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling beginning at noon.
Burial will be in the Wolf Lake Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Livingwater Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice.
