Raymond Douglas "Dugan" Price, 86, a resident of rural Huntertown, died at 3:30 p. m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at his residence in Eel River Township following an extended illness, and surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Price was born on August 21, 1923 in Fort Wayne, a son of the late Walter E. and Mary Ellen [Poinsette] Price, and served with the U. S. Navy during both World War II and the Korean Conflict.e His marriage took place in Avilla on October 11, 1947 to Martha Garman. The couple spent most of their married lives in the Huntertown-area where he was the owner and operator of Price's Dairy for 24 years.e He retired in 1987 as a truck driver for Teamster's Local after 19 years. He was a member of the Huntertown United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of Avilla American Legion Post 240, and was also a member of the Huntertown Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 11314. The surviving relatives include his wife Martha, to whom he was married for over 61 years; seven children Sarah [Kenny] Ehinger of Rome City, Rachel [David] Lash of Avilla, John [Debra] Price of Valley View, Tx., Matthew [Barbara] Price of Huntertown, Elizabeth [Greg] Davis of Churubusco, Mitchell Price of Huntertown, and Barbara [Brad] Lomont of Leo; his sister Lorraine Warner of Huntertown; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the Huntertown United Methodist Church, 16021 Lima Road, with Pastor Greg Hiatt, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Friday from 1 to 4 and from 5 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service Saturday morning. Interment with military graveside rites will be in Huntertown Cemetery.
