Richard "Dick" Millikan

Richard "Dick" J. Millikan, Sr., 84, of Blue Lake, passed away on March 19, 2021, at his home. Born in Fort Wayne, on April 16, 1936, to the late Richard and Dorothy (Dewight) Millikan. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, graduating from South Side High School. After high school Dick served in the United States Navy. Dick was married to Ruth Marvel in Fort Wayne, on June 14, 1986. He worked for a brief time on the railroad. He was a lifelong independent contractor. Dick moved with his family to Blue Lake in 1971. He loved his time at the lake. He was a member of the Churubusco American Legion and the Churubusco VFW. Dick is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ruth Millikan; his six children, Rick (Sherryl) Millikan, Jr., Dan (Monica) Millikan, Kathy Kirkpatrick, Jim (Stacie) Millikan, Barry (Jacque) Miller and Matt (Christie) Miller; his brother, Michael Everett Millikan; eighteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren and one on the way. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Monday, March 22, 2021, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
