Richard Lee "Rick" Niman, 47, of Churubusco, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Fort Wayne on January 9, 1978, to Kerry and Kaye (Mitchell) Niman. On September 3, 2024, he married Janel Johnson at Eel River Baptist Church.
Rick was a warehouse manager with Interstate Batteries for 26 years; his coworkers called him the "Battery Man."
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake Township. He loved cars, camping, being outdoors, and playing the guitar in the band "New Song Worship Band." The thing he will be remembered for is his big heart and willingness to do for others.
Rick is survived by his wife, Janel Niman; three sons, Austin, Mitchell, and Troy Niman; his daughter, Jenna Medina; parents, Pastor Kerry and Kaye Niman; three brothers, Ben (Jackie), Rob (Erin), and Nick (Julie) Niman; three sisters, Christen (Geoff) Zehr, Sarah (Kevin) Girardot, and Rachel (Les) Crews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ambriel Lynn Niman.
Visitation will take place at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lake Township, 7914 W. Cook Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46818, on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the church, with calling one hour prior to the services.
Burial will follow at Ege Catholic Cemetery.
