Richard H. Tuck, 65, a former resident of Churubusco and more recently of rural LaOtto, passed away at 5:35 a. m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at his home in Swan Township following a two year battle with brain cancer. Mr. Tuck was born on February 13, 1948 in Roanoke, Virginia, a son of William H. and Dorothy (Sheppard) Tuck, and graduated from Cave Spring High School. Following his high school graduation, he moved to Fort Wayne where he attended the former Fort Wayne Art Institute, graduating from there in 1970. On September 5, 1970 he was married in Fort Wayne to Barbara L. Weimer, and lived there following their marriage. They later lived in Collins for a period, and moved to Churubusco in 1978. They had lived at their present home in Noble County for the past six years. A member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church, he had also served for a period on the Churubusco Board of Zoning Appeals. The most important thing in his life was his family, and he always strove to be the very best husband and father. A deeply spiritual individual, his art often reflected the spiritual symbolism and traditions of many cultures. The surviving relatives include his wife Barbara; his son Joshua A. (Danielle) Tuck of Fort Wayne; a brother the Rev. Reginald D. (Catherine McCullough) Tuck of Blacksburg, Virg; a granddaughter June Marie Tuck; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Dr. Nathan R. Tuck. The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from 2-4 and from 6-8 p. m. Memorial services will be held at 11 .a. m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at the Churubusco United Methodist Church with Pastor Corinne Boruff-Stucker, officiating. The family will greet friends at the church immediately following the service. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Churubusco United Methodist Church, Parkview Home Health & Hospice, or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. *********************************************
