Franklin Geiger, 96, a lifelong farmer in Green Township in Noble County, passed away at 2:32 a. m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 following a brief illness. Mr. Geiger was born on March 2, 1914 in Noble County, a son of Herschel and Leona (Eberly) Geiger.e He and his wife Lenora Ellen (Fulk) Geiger would have been married 70 years on February 27, 2011.e In addition to being engaged in farming, he was also a co-owner of the former Geiger Equipment, Inc. in Churubusco for many years. As a child he joined the Sugar Grove Church of God, north of Churubusco, and was an active member until his death. The surviving relatives include his wife Lenora Ellen; two daughters Joan (Hanson) Young and Janice (Robert) Parquet; a son John F. (Janis) Geiger; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Earl Geiger, Everett Geiger, H. William Geiger, and Thomas Geiger, and by infant twin brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Friday, December 24, 2010, at the Sugar Grove Church of God, with Pastor Timothy Grable, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Thursday from 3 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the family plot at Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you give a gift to a friend or family in need during this Christmas season. ***************************************
