Robert W. Lepper, 81, a resident of rural Kimmell, died at 7:55 p. m. on Friday, December 26, 2008, at his residence following an illness of nearly three years. Mr. Lepper was born on July 4, 1927 in Fort Wayne, a son of the late Warren B. and Mary K. (Chapman) Lepper.e As a young man he enlisted in the U. S. Navy, and served during World War II at the Great Lakes Navel Station, served aboard the USS Cape Esperance, and was a recipient of the Victory Medal. He worked at the Fort Wayne Auto Auction in the body and paint department for 12 years. On Juy 11, 1962 he was married in New Haven to Vera M. Walker.e She survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by seven sons James (Marsha) Lepper of Butler, Charles Lepper of Fort Wayne, Keith (Darla) Lepper of Dahlonega, Ga., Gary Lepper of Kimmell, Randy Lepper of Churubusco, Carl (Cindy) Lepper of Lake Wawassee,e and Curt Lepper of Kimmell; a daughter Shelly (John) Davies of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Florence Rogers; and a brother James Lepper. Memorial services will be held at 4 p. m. on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Chaplain Gordon L. Samra of Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice Home, officiating.e e Military rites will be conducted the the U. S.
