Ronald Mcbride

Ronald A. McBride, 81, of rural Churubusco in Allen County, passed away at 7:15 a. m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at North Ridge Village Nursing and Rehab in Albion after a long illness. Mr. McBride was born on February 7, 1933 in Brimfield, a son of Royal and Theora (Lincoln) McBride. He spent his formative years in Northwest Allen County, and graduated from Huntertown High School in 1951. On August 2, 1953 he was married to Ellen Terry , and moved to Churubusco. He was employed at International Harvester in Fort Wayne, and retired after 30 years. Mr. McBride enjoyed working in the orchard and planting his garden. The surviving relatives include wife, Ellen McBride of Churubusco; two sons, Craig (Phyllis) McBride of Midland, VA and Brent (Cathy) McBride of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Sarah (David) Leazier of Churubusco; three sisters, Marilyn McBride of CA, Louise Moore of Huntington, and Joy Ditton of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by his parents Royal and Theora (Lincoln) McBride; a brother Byron McBride;and by two sons Ross McBride (1991) and David McBride (1955). Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Rev. Verlin Rice, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
