Rosella Shinkel

Rosella Ann "Rosie" Shinkel, 73, of Churubusco, passed on September 27, 2022, at Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Avilla. She was born in Decatur, on November 20, 1948, to the late Oscar and Della (Aumann) Koeneman. She spent her formative years in Decatur and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1967. Rosie was married to Gregory L. Shinkel on May 25, 1973, in Decatur. She worked at Essex Wire in Fort Wayne for 27 years, retiring in 2012. Rosie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gregory L. Shinkel; three brothers, Stan (Kathy) Koeneman, Jerry Koeneman and Norwin (Rita) Stoppenhagen. A memorial calling will take place at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
