Ross Clouse

Ross H. Clouse, 91, a resident of Churubusco, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 10:44 p. m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Clouse was born on April 10, 1923, a son of Harmon and Martha (Riddle) Clouse. He spent his formative years on the family farm in Green Township in Noble County and graduated from Churubusco High School. On December 31, 1943 he was married in Churubusco to Evelyn Budd, and lived all of his adult life in the Churubusco-area. He retired as a machinist from Dana Weatherhead Division in Columbia City. He had also been engaged in farming in Green Township, and had operated Clouse Excavating Service. He was a faithful member of the Merriam Christian Chapel, and took an active part in the Smiling Sam's RV Club. The surviving relatives include the widow Evelyn, to whom he was married for over 70 years; his daughters Charlene (Mike) Zeigler and Earlene Klein, both of Churubusco; a son Rev. Larry (Josefina) Clouse of Nashua, New Hampshire; a son-in-law Gary E. Craig of Churubusco; 21 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Denise Marie Craig on December 22, 2010; by a brother Willis R. Clouse; and by a sister Mary Glass. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Monday, August 4, 2014, at the Merriam Christian Chapel. The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Sunday from 2 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Merriam Christian Chapel Missions Fund. ***************************************
