Ruth Young

Ruth Anna Young, 91, of Green Center, passed away on August 25, 2017 in Columbia City. She was born on August 6, 1926 in Green Township, Noble County, daughter of Nelson and Wildah (Zumbrun) Brown she spent her formative years in Green Center. Ruth Anna was married on September 15, 1946 to Lloyd T. Young. The couple stayed in Green Township where they raised their two children. She worked as a county auditor and retired from Farm Credit Services in 1991. She was a lifetime member of the Blue River Church of the Brethren. She was also a long time Noble County 4 - H Leader. Ruth Anna is survived by two sisters, Mary Ester Mills and Hazel Truelove; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd; her son, John Young; and her daughter, Carol Young. Visiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will begin at 11:00 AM, at Blue River Church of the Brethren on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Green Center Community Building or the Blue River Church of the Brethren.
