Sharon Herron

Sharon K. Herron, 79, of Churubusco, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Stillwater Hospice. She was born on September 24, 1942, in Fort Wayne, to the late Orval and Virginia (Erickson) McBride. She spent her formative years in Churubusco and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1960. In 1961, she graduated from International Business College. Sharon was married to Gene E. Herron on February 14, 1969. He preceded her in death in 1989. She worked at Dana Corporation in Churubusco for 34 years. Sharon was a proofreader for the Churubusco News for 17 years, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed short trips, reading books, doing crossword puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with her daughter and her grandson, Colt. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Lori Crigger; her grandson, Colt Lee; two brothers, George (Carol) McBride and David (Becky) McBride. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Ray Crigger. Funeral services will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends at the funeral home, on Monday, August 1, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
