Sharon Schaefer

Sharon M. Schaefer, 68, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on April 20, 2016, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, surrounded by her family. Sharon was born on May 22, 1947, in Salamanca, NY to Ray and Ann (Smith) Shroyer. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from South Side High School. For the last three years she had been a resident of Northridge Village in Albion, and had previously lived in Avilla. She loved doing crafts, spending time with family, and country music--especially Willy Nelson. On January 19, 1995 she was married to Phillip A. Schaefer. He preceded her in death. Surviving are her mother Ann Shroyer of Albion; two sons Steven and Marc Smith; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a sister Margaret "Marge" Heckman. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Pastors Bill Cupp and Monte Harlan, officiating. Calling will be on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., or one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
