Sharon Ann Smith

Sharon Ann Smith (Dick), 81, passed away on April 22, 2026, at Parkview Hospital Randallia.

She was born on January 16, 1945, in Fort Wayne, to the late Melvin and Virginia (Leammle) Dick. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1962.

Sharon met and married her husband, Gene, while working at Wolf & Dessauer in 1964. They moved to Churubusco in 1983, and she continued commuting to Fort Wayne, where she worked in the cafeteria at Parkview Hospital for more than 30 years.

She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and taking walks. She loved to read and was known for her sugar cookies. Sharon especially cherished spending time with her family at the lake house on Miller Lake.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Jim) Croy; two grandchildren, Michael Croy (Jackie) and Emily Croy; her sisters, Marcia Malles and Mary Richards; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Smith, and her son, Kurt Smith.

A funeral service will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Calling will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Burial will take place at Ege Catholic Cemetery.
