Shermon Gayheart

Shermon "Sherm" Gayheart, Jr., 54, of Avilla, passed away on December 17, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. He was born in Fort Wayne, on June 5, 1967, to the Shermon and Geneva (Runyon) Gayheart, Sr. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, graduating from Northrop High School. Sherm was married to Carla Fike in Fort Wayne, on November 21, 1987. He worked as a Site Superintendent for Performance Services. He had perviously co-owned with his daughter, BMG Mechanical. He also had worked for A. Hattersley & Sons and Shambaugh & Sons. Sherm was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 166. He loved his girls. He was a friend to many and will be missed. Sherm is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carla Gayheart; his daughter, Brittany Gayheart; his parents, Shermon and Geneva Gayheart, Sr.; a brother, David Gayheart.. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruby & Buris Runyon. Services will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., with Pastor Lane Burgland officiating.
