Stephan Belot

Stephan J. Belot, 67, a resident of rural Leo and lifelong resident of Allen County , died at 9:50 a. m. on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his residence in Perry Township.e He had been in failing health for the past month. Mr. Belot was born on March 26, 1941 in Fort Wayne.e He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1959, and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy.e On August 8, 1964 he was married in Fort Wayne to Anne W. Witte, and had lived at his present home for the past 35 years. Employed as a journeyman plumber all of his adult life, he worked with the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 166 for over 20 years, and retired in 2005 from Current Mechanical A Link Service Contractor in Fort Wayne. A lover of nature and outdoor activities, he enjoyed gardening, feeding the squirrels, birds, and deer, and especially loved his cat and companion "Kitty Boy." The surviving relatives include his wife Anne, to whom he was married for over 44 years; and his two children Lise (Dan) Greil of Indianapolis and Mark Belot of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his mother Nellie (Gerber) Cobbum. Funeral services will be held on his birthday at 11 a. m.e Thursday, March 26, at the Huntertown United Methodist Church, 16021 Lima Road, with Pastors Greg Hiatt and Sherri Long, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p. m., or one hour prior to the service. Interment with military graveside rites will be in the Huntertown Cemetery. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco is in charge of the arrangements.
