Stephen Middaugh, 71, of Churubusco, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born on January 5, 1953, in Portland, to the Late Glenn and Thelma (Binegar) Middaugh. He graduated from Pennville High School. He then attended Ball State for two years before going to Olivet Nazarene University, where he met his wife, Marilyn Wilson. Stephen graduated from Circleville Bible College in May of 1981.
Stephen was married to Marilyn Wilson on May 25, 1974. The couple settled in Churubusco, and were dedicated members of the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, where he was always actively involved. He loved teaching and sharing God's word and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Recently the couple had become members of the Churubusco Church of the Nazarene. He experienced a spiritual rebirth in September of 1966 and carried his faith with him throughout his life. In his professional life, Stephen worked as a Process Tech at BRC Rubber & Plastic, Inc. He retired in 2011, after 30 years of dedicated service.
Stephen and Marilyn celebrated 50 years of marriage with a trip to Shipshewana. In their 50 years of marriage the couple enjoyed going to Pokagon State Park or Fox Island and enjoying God's country, with a walk or just watching the birds. Time spent together was all they needed.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Middaugh; his brother, Donald (Becky) Middaugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gladys Bell.
Public calling hours will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Churubusco Church of The Nazarene located at 1050 West Whitley Street, Churubusco, Indiana, 46723. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, with calling one hour prior.
Burial will take place at the Eel River Cemetery.
