Steven P. Jantz, 62, a resident of Churubusco, passed away at 5:16 p. m. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.e He had been seriously ill for the past week. Mr. Jantz was born on October 10, 1950 in Fort Wayne, a son of John "Jake" and Mary (Tumbleson) Jantz.e He spent his formative years there and graduated from Northside High School in 1969. On June 4, 1977 he was married in Churubusco to Nanette K. Anderson, and lived all of his adult life in Churubusco.e Employed at Food Marketing in Fort Wayne for over 30 years, he retired as a warehouse worker there in 2006. He was a member of Teamsters Local 414, and was active as a scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts program in Churubusco for many years.e He enjoyed playing golf with his friends, Indiana University basketball, traveling throughout the continental United States, and was an avid reader.e Most importantly he loved and cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren. The surviving relatives include his wife Nanette; his children Sarah (Jason) Teague of Churubusco and Adam (Beth) Jantz of Fort Wayne; two brothers Don Jantz of San Francisco, Calif., and John Jantz of Richmond; and his three beloved grandchildren Ben Teague, Nick Teague, and Emily Jantz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Jantz; two sisters Linda Gradel and Sharon Wright; and by a grandson Jacob Michael Teague. At the request of Mr. Jantz there will be no public funeral. The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p. m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Churubusco Public Library, 116 N.
