Steven Francis Moses, 65, of LaOtto, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at his home in LaOtto.
Mr. Moses was born on June 1, 1950 in Fort Wayne, a son of Louis Herbert and Mary Elizabeth (Bennett) Moses.
He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, and graduated from Dwenger High School.
He was an avid modeler and collector of HO Scale Model Railroad. He was a member of the Nickel Plate Society, Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, and was part of the restoration team that completed the 765 Steam Engine. Steve also enjoyed many motor sports and took part in many classic car cruz-ins. He loved being at the lake and spending his winters in Bonita Springs, FL.
Surviving are his daughter, Becky (Rick) Freeman of LaOtto, Sister-in-Law Marcia (Louis P.) Moses, Nephew Benjamin (Amy) Moses, and a great nephew James. Also surviving is his oldest, dearest, most loyal, and caring best friend, Valeria Cheek.
He was preceded in death by both parents Louis Herbert and Mary Elizabeth Moses, a brother Lewis Patrick Moses, and nephew Capt. Steven James Moses, MD.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Lane Burgland, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, or one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the St. Vincent's Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. The family welcomes anyone who wishes to participate in the funeral procession with their classic car (weather permitting of course)
