Steven A. Winebrenner, 73, of Churubusco, passed away on November 27, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital
He was born on June 10, 1952 in Kendallville, to the late Ty and Evelyn (Phend) Winebrenner. He spent his formative years in Albion and graduated from Central Noble High School in 1970. He received his Bachelors degree in Education from Indiana University in 1974, and later on got his Masters degree in Education.
Steve was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and teacher. He was united in marriage on August 14, 1976, to Cynthia Herendeen in Albion. Steven devoted his life to shaping young minds, teaching at Central Noble, Churubusco, Muncie, South Central, Westview, and retiring from Homestead High School. A man of faith, he was an active member of the Merriam Christian Chapel Church. He loved to work in the yard, gardening, singing in the church choir, and he also coached baseball and basketball, but most of all, he loved his grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cynthia Winebrenner; his children, Jocelyn (Kerry) Clouse, Jacinda (Brad) Porter, and Josiah (Anastasia) Winebrenner; and his siblings, Nick Winebrenner, Doug Winebrenner, and Jody Rex; 12 grandchildren, Shylyn (Tyler) Caldwell, Jaydrian Clouse, Leland (Savannah) Porter, Janaya (Brian) Corkan, Emma (Byron) Tucker, Braya (Matthias) Feeman, Nolan, Lynlee Porter, Ansley Porter, Everleigh Porter, and Eviella and Silas Winebrenner; one great-granddaughter, Ember Feeman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jamin Winebrenner.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Merriam Christian Chapel Church, with calling one hour prior.
The family will also receive family and friends on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Church.
Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
