Susan Irene Pyle, known affectionately as Sue, passed away on August 30, 2023, after being diagnosed with cancer. She was born on November 5, 1947, in Kosciusko County, Indiana, and resided in Auburn, Indiana. Sue's life was characterized by her loving nature, her dedication to her family, her generous spirit, and the supportive environment she created around her.
Sue embarked on her professional journey in banking, holding a long-standing position as a bookkeeper at Churubusco State Bank and a teller at Star Financial Bank. Her colleagues knew her as a dedicated employee, always reliable and committed to her work. Later in life, Sue worked in retail at Kohl's. Outside of her professional life, she was a woman of simple pleasures. She enjoyed playing cards, watching movies, meeting close friends for lunches and most importantly, spending time with her beloved family.
Sue is survived by the father of their children, Ernie Pyle; her daughters, Julie (Grant) North, Sherri (Jerry) Partin, Christy (Tom) Bianski, Nancy (Zach) Gillenwater, Stacy (Wally) Fleming, and Tracy Cochran; her son, Jeffrey (Amy) Pyle; her sister, JoDee Jaurigue; her grandchildren, Logan and Jake North, Maranda (Nathan) Kuhn, Caleb and Ethan Partin, Hunter, Grady, Brayden and Nancy Bianski, Shelby (Kody) Poyser and Wyatt (Nicole) Gillenwater, Evan, Alex and Ava Pyle, Tyra, Kayla (Max) Green, Jaxon and Lyla Fleming, Juliet Pyle and Ariella Cochran; and her great-grandchildren, Bella and Briggs Poyser, Emery Kuhn and Hazel Green; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Deloris Gaff; her granddaughter, Mia Lucille Fleming; her nephew, Quintenn Clark; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Please join us for a celebration of Sue's life on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel.
