Susan Severson

Susan F. Severson, 81, of LaOtto, passed away on June 15, 2024, at Ascension Sacred Heart, Avilla. She was born on May 4, 1943, in Avilla, to the late Fred and Mary (Biedrzycki) Schlotterer. She spent her formative years in Avilla and graduated from Avilla High School. Susan was a beloved wife, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of many with her zest for life and infectious smile. She was a dedicated employee of General Electric and later Lockheed Martin, before her well-deserved retirement after 45 years. She was an active member of the community, serving as a proud member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Susan was a woman full of life and adventure. She had a passion for outdoor activities, which included camping, riding her motorcycle, and taking road trips with her husband, Daryl Severson, whom she married on October 14, 1967. She also enjoyed going on cruises, working in her yard, planting flowers, and riding dirt bikes on their Michigan property. Susan was known for her love of roller coasters, embodying her daring and playful spirit. Susan is survived by her husband, Daryl Severson; her sister-in-law, Karen Severson; her brother-in-law, Bob Overy; her nephews, Bruce (Lori) Getts, Doug (Theresa) Overy, Tom Kurtz, and Brian (Jane) Severson; her nieces, Theresa Teller and Sherry Severson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Schlotterer; siblings, Barbara Overy, Tom Schlotterer, Doloris Kurtz, and Virgillia Schlotterer; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Severson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in honor of Susan on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Ege, located at 7046 East 400 South, LaOtto, Indiana, 46763. Burial will follow at the Ege Catholic Cemetery. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
