Sylvia Marie (Parrish) Shoopman, 88, of Churubusco, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at Dupont Hospital. Born on January 20, 1931, in Liberty, KY, to the late Melvin and Francis (Wilkerson) Shoopman. Sylvia was married to Robert E. Parrish Sr. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was a homemaker and worked at Dana in Churubusco and Indianapolis for 19 years, retiring in 1992. Sylvia was a member of Good News Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, her family, praying to her Lord and his son, Jesus Christ. Her hobbies included gardening and going to garage sales. She is most known for giving time and care to several family and friends prior to their death. Sylvia is survived by three sons, Bob E. (Kim) Parrish of Avilla, John M. (Keke Aghabekian) Parrish of Fort Wayne and Scott (Jennifer) Parrish of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Kyle (Brittany) Parrish, Ryan Parrish, Paige Parrish, Payton Parrish, Alexandria Parrish; two sisters, Wanda Baldock of OH, Rose Hunter of FL; a brother, Ernest Shoopman of MI. She is preceded in death by a son, Thomas B. Parrish; five sisters, Ruth Taylor, Gay Shoopman, Fay Hogue, Elizabeth Wilson and Peggy Snider; a brother, Bud Parrish. Service will take place at Good News Baptist Church on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive friends on Monday, January 6, 2020, at the church from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
