Sylvon Pulfer

Sylvon J. Pulfer, 89, a resident of Churubusco, died at 8:27 p. m. on Thursday, October 2, 2008, at the University Park Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.e He had been in declining health for some time, and had been a patient there since August. Mr. Pulfer was born in Wells County on November 15, 1918, a son of Ernest and Elizabeth (Kipfer) Pulfer.e He spent much of his adult life in Fort Wayne, before moving to Churubusco following his retirement. Employed in restaurant work all of his adult life, he worked at the Hobby House Restaurants in Fort Wayne for 40 years, retiring from there in 1980. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Leo. The surviving relatives include two sisters Irene H. Pulfer of Churubusco and Sarah Reinhard of Bluffton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Amos Pulfer, Raymond Pulfer, and Lester Pulver. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. on Monday, October 6, 2008, at the Apostolic Christian Church, 11714 Grabill Road, Leo.e Lynn Stieglitz will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Sunday from 5 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Leo Cemetery.
