Tanya Lowenstein

Tanya Lowenstein, 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away on August 12, 2019, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, on June 4, 1947, to the late Vilas "Peely"and Anne (Syka) Miller. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne, graduating from Northside High School in 1965. After high school she attended and graduated from Indiana University. She spent time in Memphis working for Carol & Larry Fine Children's Clothing. She then moved to Indianapolis and Bloomington for a brief time. Tanya went to live in rural Fort Wayne and was a teacher at the Bradley School where she taught Fashion and Design. Later she relocated to the Bradley School in Pittsburg. She settled in Nassau County, New York. Tanya became a professor of the Fashion and Design Department at Nassau Community College. In her free time she enjoyed reading, fashion, decor and writing. She had published writings in the Village Voice, Spin Magazine and Thrasher Magazine. Tanya is survived by her brother, Michael (Cynthia) Miller; two nieces, Katie (Rob) Ramos and Erin Miller; a nephew, Seth (Lesley) Miller; several great-nieces and nephews A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
