Thelma J. Price, 54, a resident of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 26, 2014. For the past 14 months she has courageously battled pancreatic cancer. Thelma was born on August 25, 1960 in Ayrshire, Scotland, a daughter of Donald James and Elizabeth (Henderson) MacDonald, and spent her formative years there. She completed her education there and also had graduated from culinary school in Scotland. In 1992 she relocated to the United States and had lived in several areas before moving to Allen County ten years ago. Earlier in her life she had been employed as a chef, and was last employed as a residential care giver for Easter Seals Arc-NE Indiana in Fort Wayne and also at DeBrand Fine Chocolates. A gifted athlete, she had played professional soccer for the Women's International Soccer Team of Scotland, and leisurely with the Lady Blues in Fort Wayne. She had also earned her black belt in karate. Thelma enjoyed working with young athletes, had coached the Huntertown Lions Club Soccer Teams, and had also coached the Carroll Middle School girls soccer team, winning their conference championship. She was a member of the Huntertown United Methodist Church. The surviving relatives include her beloved children Megan Price and David Price, both at home; her mother Elizabeth MacDonald of Ayrshire, Scotland; a brother James (Susan Sinclair) MacDonald of Castle Hill, Scotland; and a nephew Boyd MacDonald. Her father preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. on Wednesday at Huntertown United Methodist Church, 16021 Lima Rd., with Pastor Greg Hiatt and Gabrielle Ginder, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church after 11 a. m. on Wednesday until the hour of the service.
