Thomas Fitzcharles

Thomas A. Fitzcharles, 62, a resident of Churubusco, passed away at 1:27 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was taken to the hospital on Monday. He was diagnosed with cancer in November. Thom was born on May 9, 1953 in Edgerton, Ohio, a son of Donald and Theta (Elliott) Fitzcharles. He moved to Leo as a child with his parents and graduated from Leo High School in 1971. On November 26, 1977 he was married in Leo to Deb Harris. The couple spent the early years of their marriage in Fort Wayne, and had lived in North Port, Florida for 14 years before moving to Churubusco in 1996. For the past 18 years he had been employed as an entry door installer for Windows, Doors and More in Fort Wayne. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed hunting as a young man, and loved playing Wii Bowling. He enjoyed his Friday morning breakfast buddies, and most especially loved and cherished time with his family. The surviving relatives include his wife Deb; his children Abbee (Joe) Strack of Fort Wayne, Lindy (Dustin) Papenbrock of Churubusco, and Quentin Fitzcharles of Churubusco; a brother Michael (Claudeen) Fitzcharles of North Port, Fla; two sisters Dawn (Leroy) Delagrange of Venice, Fla., and Amy Kovach of New Port Richey, Fla; and his three grandchildren Kuper Papenbrock, Sophia Strack, and Kroix Papenbrock; and several nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death. At the request of the family there will be no formal funeral, but friends may call at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. The family requests memorials be directed to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. ********************************** To leave an online condolence for the family in Thom's memory, "click" on condolences below...
