It is with a sense of deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas James Knupp. Born on March 22, 1942, to parents, James and Winnie Knupp, he lived a life filled with adventure, love, and laughter.
Thomas was a man of many talents and interests. In 1961, he graduated from Northside High School and furthered his education by attending business school in downtown Fort Wayne. Following his education, Thomas journeyed out west, living in several different areas before returning to Indiana in 1996. It was upon his return that he met the love of his life, Cathryn Hood, his beloved fiancé, constant companion, and source of joy.
Thomas was a dedicated car salesman, a career he held until his retirement. His charismatic and spirited nature made him a beloved figure in the retail industry. He was a man who loved to have a good time, especially when he was at home on the lake. His love for travel and adventure was merely a reflection of his love for life.
In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Thomas Knupp's life was a testament to this quote. His love and laughter will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him.
Thomas leaves behind a loving family, including his fiancé, Cathryn Hood; two sons, Aaron Knupp, and Michael Becraft; his two daughter, Michele (Joshua) Monroe and Tonna Chafant; his adored granddaughters, Fiona, Deja, and Ashley; his grandsons, Jordan and Zachary; his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Lillian, Krue, Edey, Bridger, and Evey.
In addition to his family, Thomas leaves behind special friends, Keith, Steve, Becky, Linda, Darrell, Smitty, Connie, Rex, and all his Tri-Lakes friends. On behalf of Cathryn, thank you all for being devoted friends of Thomas's, and welcoming her and her family into your tight-knit group.
In addition to both of his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his stepfather, John.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Thomas's memory can be made to Parkview Hospice or the Humane Society of Whitley County.
We encourage everyone who knew and loved Thomas to leave memories and upload photos to his memorial page as a tribute to his wonderful life. His spirit touched many, and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
