Thomas B. Parrish, 59, a resident of rural Fort Wayne in Eel River Township, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 6, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Parrish was born in Fort Wayne on August 2, 1951, a son of Robert E. , Sr. and Sylvia M. (Shoopman) Parrish.e He spent his formative years in Eel River Township, and graduated from Carroll High School in 1970. As a young man he worked for Sheller Globe in Grabill for 25 years, and had been employed as a industrial maintenance worker at C&A Tool and Engineering in Churubusco since 1998.e He enjoyed reading his Bible, spending time alone with the Lord, and working on his trucks.e He also greatly missed his beloved dog and companion "T. D." The surviving relatives include his mother Sylvia M. Shoopman of Churubusco; three brothers Robert E. (Kim) Parrish, Jr. and John M. (Patricia) Parrish, both of Avilla, and Scott G. (Jennifer) Parrish of rural Fort Wayne; and his nieces and nephews Kyle (Rita) Parrish and Ryan Parrish, both of Auburn, Alexandria Parrish of Avilla, and Payton Parrish and Paige Parrish, both of rural Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his father on April 7, 1993. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. on Friday, September 10, 2010, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Larry Smith, pastor of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the mortuary on Thursday from 2 to 8 p. m. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
