Thomas Thompson

Thomas E. Thompson, 83, of Churubusco, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023. He was born in Muncie on August 22, 1939, to the late Harry and Opal (Blount) Thompson. He spent his formative years in Huntertown and graduated from Huntertown High School. Tom was the Superintendent at Foster Park Golf Course from 1975 until he retired. He and his wife, Bev, enjoyed vacationing around the US on their Goldwing. Tom was President of GWRRA in Fort Wayne for many years. Tom was an avid Komets fan and was a season ticket holder for over 20 years. He also loved classic cars. Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly Thompson, two sons, Doug (Cindy) Thompson and Chris (Andrea Kidd) Thompson; his daughter, Jill (Sam) Trahin; a brother, Dick (Louann) Thompson; eight grandchildren, Krystal Hurley, Gabe (Colleen) Jacks, Megan (Joshua) Kemery, Brad (Jannelle) Thompson, Mandy Trahin, Kendra (Shea) Greve, Stacie (Cal Jacquay) Trahin, Sara (Chris) Howard; 13 great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Mason, Lucas, Loghan, Jayden, Sadie, Penelope, Beau, Jaxton, Elliana, Charlotte, Sully, and Cooper. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Opal; his siblings, Harry and Peggy; his daughter-in-law, Sherri Thompson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held St. John Bosco Catholic Church, on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with calling one hour prior to service at the Funeral Home. The family will also receive family and friends at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Holy Rosary at 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco. Memorials may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ind. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
