Timothy Leffers

Timothy L. Leffers, born on October 17, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on November 10, 2023. A lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, Tim was a beloved figure in his community, providing guidance and education to countless young minds as a teacher at Bishop Dwenger High School for the latter portion of his career, from which he retired. Tim proudly served in the Navy from 1973-1979. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Peggy Myers, on July 18, 1981, and the two built a life filled with faith, love, and family, including two beautiful daughters that he loved dearly. They married and provided him with six grandchildren that he enjoyed playing with and watching them in their various sports and activities. As an avid sports fan, Tim found joy in cheering on the Bears, Cubs, and Purdue. In his relaxing moments, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and simply reflecting on life in his favorite spot in the garage. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Eleanor Leffers. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Leffers, and his devoted daughters, Stephanie (Jason) Nees and Liz (Shane) Griffin; his brother Matthew (Dawn) Leffers; his two sisters, Connie (Fred) Campbell and Sharon (Larry) Tallent; his six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Scarlett, Ellie, Tate, Dirk, and Ocie; and many nieces and nephews! Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46825, with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Huntertown Chapel, located at 16830 Lima Road, Huntertown, Indiana, 46748, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to The Bishop Dwenger Timothy L. Leffers Memorial Scholarship or to Cancer Services of N.E. Indiana. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
