Vivian Hurst

Vivian Rosalie Hurst, 93, of Churubusco, passed away at 2:15 am on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Lutheran Life Village at Pine Valley in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Hurst was born on April 26, 1920 in Warsaw, a daughter of Harry R. and Nellie (Stafford) Wilkinson. On November 24, 1938 she was married to Ivan Eugene Hurst, and moved from South Bend to Churubusco where she had lived since 1964. Mr. Hurst preceded her in death on September 10, 1995. The surviving relatives include three daughters - Linda (Steven) Hallien of Fort Wayne, Diana (Randy) Gaff and Lea Graham both of Churubusco; daughter-in-law Pamela Hurst of Quincy, Mass.; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her brother Billie Wilkinson; son, Jeral Hurst; a great granddaughter Faith Hallien. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Rev. Edward A. Thompson, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
