Wayde Potter

Wayde Allen Potter, aged 36, of Churubusco, passed away on September 1, 2023. He was born on May 31, 1987, in Columbia City. Wayde spent most of his life in his home state, where he found immense joy in the great outdoors. Wayde was known for his love of fishing, hunting, hiking, and climbing trees. He was a true outdoorsman who loved nothing more than spending time in nature, whether he was casting a line into a peaceful lake or spending quality time with his family under the open sky. Wayde was a dedicated professional in the home repair industry, bringing his exceptional skills and dedication to the construction field. Despite the demands of his career, Wayde always prioritized what mattered most to him, his family and fishing. He was a beloved husband to Heather Potter, whom he married on June 9, 2017. In addition to his wife, Heather, Wayde is survived by his eight children, Dominic Potter, Caydence Potter, Triston Green, Hunter Potter, Naomi Green, Aylah Potter, Bryer Potter, and Mea Potter; his fathers, Tim Potter and Larry Gordon; his sister, Tia (Zach) Mcelroy, her son, Aiden Grimm; his five half siblings, Tommy, Michael, Codi, Nakita, and Matt. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeana Pontzius. A memorial gathering for Wayde will take place on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Family in care of Sheets & Childs Funeral Home.
