William "Bill" Lee Barnhart, 71, of Churubusco, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Majestic Care West Allen.
He was born at Lucky Hospital in Wolf Lake, on May 12, 1951, to the late Clarence and Gladys Lucile (Pepple) Barnhart. He spent his formative years in Churubusco and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1969.
Bill was married to Kathlene (Alter) Kienzler at Agape Church on December 3, 1994. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2015
He had worked for Dana in Churubusco until Mahle took over. He retired from C & A Tools in 2013.
He was a season ticket holder for the Fort Wayne Komets for many decades. He loved to just watch sports and enjoyed unplanned day trips. He enjoyed supporting his grandchildren at any of their events. Bill didn't know a stranger and was a friend to all.
His surviving relatives include his daughter, Linda (Greg Zorn) Chiddister; his son, Mark (Mickey) Kienzler; his sister, Nancy (Bart) Lefever; his grandchildren, Maryia, Mason, Hunter, Terron, Drebyn, Trasin, Eli, Keilynn, Brooklyn, Harley, Mya, and Jade; four great-grandchildren, Damond, Tucker, Emmitt, Mckyinzi, and Teegan; he is also survived by a niece, many nephews, and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded by two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., with calling beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Churubusco Youth League or the Churubusco Youth Football League.
