William Charles Novy

William "Bill" Charles Novy, 77, of Avilla, passed away on May 13, 2026, at his home in Avilla, IN.

He was born in Puerto Rico on August 22, 1948, to the late Charles and Joan (Drecher) Novy.

He graduated from Garrett High School in 1966. After high school, he earned his bachelor's degree in science and then his Master of Arts degree.

Bill was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Ege, Pheasants Forever Chapter 182, Boon and Crockett, and the Eel River Gun Club. He loved to hunt and fish.

He worked as an analyst for Verizon for 29 years.

William is survived by his son, Nate (Beth) Novy; two grandchildren, Nikolas and Aaliyah Takayama; three brothers, Thomas Novy, Bob (Beth) Novy, and Joe (Marisa) Novy; and a sister, Mary Jo (Tom) Hullinger.

Calling will take place at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on May 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00 pm. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Ege, 7046 E. 400 S. LaOtto, IN 46763, on May 21, 2026.

Burial will follow at Ege Catholic Cemetery in LaOtto, Indiana.
