William C. Richardson

William C. Richardson, 82, of Churubusco, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at his home.

He was born on November 13, 1943, in Fort Wayne, to the late Woodrow and Martha (Meilke) Richardson. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from Northside High School in 1962.

On June 14, 2008, William was united in marriage to Tracie Mendenhall in Albion, Indiana. Together, they shared a loving partnership and enjoyed many travels, creating cherished memories along the way.

William proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army before embarking on a long and distinguished career as a technician at Verizon, where he was employed for 44 years before retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Sugar Grove Church of God and actively participated in the Olive Club in Fort Wayne, where he forged many lasting friendships.

William is survived by his beloved wife, Tracie Richardson; two sons, William (Suzi) Richardson and T. Shane Geberin; a sister, Barbara Richardson; and four grandchildren, Peyton Gererin, Casey Richardson, J. J. Yarabek, and Will Richardson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Richardson, and a son, Jeff Richardson.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling one hour prior to the service.

The family will also receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Burial will take place at the Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne.

Memorials may be directed to Parkview Whitley Hospice.
